With your English Literature GSCE, you will explore over 400 years of English literature, spanning from the historic work of Shakespeare through to modern day poetry and language.
As well as learning about classic authors and their famous work, you’ll also develop your skills in reading comprehension and writing, which will help propel you into further study, and get you one step closer to your future career.
A GCSE grade 4 (formerly grade C) or above in English Literature is also generally required for any well-paid job, So, even if you don’t want to do any further studies afterwards, it’s well worth doing a GCSE course. And if you didn’t achieve it in school, then you can do it now – it’s never too late!

You have two years to complete your GCSE English Literature course, but it can be completed in just 6 months! If you find that you need more time, you can always extend your 2 years of access.
There are 120 hours of learning required with this GCSE.
You’ll need to take exams into account, however, as exam sittings are held once per year in May or June.
We have 5 examination centres: Bolton, Coventry, Doncaster, St Neots Cambridgeshire and Wimbledon. All of our centres have been approved for you to take your GCSE exam by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).
