Europe is one of the most popular TEFL destinations in the world – and Spain, in particular, is a highly sought-after location (we wonder why…). You don’t need a bachelor’s degree to teach in Spain – yay! But do bear in mind, due to its popularity, you might need to be flexible about specific locations, schools and salary because there’s a bit more competition for positions. But, if you’re up to the challenge, the rewards are amazing (and delicious!)
Number 2 on our list is sunny Mexico! Although some private schools might ask for a degree, the majority of schools won’t need you to have one in order to teach English – hurray! So, get ready to enjoy incredible cuisine (burritos, nachos, quesadillas, tacos, guacamole…), fun local traditions including the world famous Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), and lots and lots of hot weather. Sounds pretty dreamy to us!

Good day kind sir/ Madame.. I have a few questions than to ask if I may, firstly is there a age limit to go and teach aboard?
2) how does one go ahead and apply?
3 ) and what is the highest the will take in education?
Hi Candice, thanks for getting in touch! In answer to your questions: 1) there’s no official age limit to teach abroad but some schools may specify their own preferences. We’ve worked with many mature teachers who have found teaching jobs abroad. 2) To teach abroad, you’ll need to complete a TEFL course. To get started with this, we’d recommend speaking to our TEFL experts by requesting a free call here: https://www.i-to-i.com/contact/call-me-back.html. 3) You’ll need a minimum of 120 hours of TEFL training to teach abroad and some countries also ask for a degree – but there are plenty of countries where you don’t need a degree. Hope this helps! All the best.

Hi.. I would like to know if there are any opportunities to teach English in Austrailia. I have just completed a TEFL course and would to know what the next step is.
Hi Glenn, the vast majority of TEFL jobs are in non-English speaking countries. If you’re looking for a job in an English speaking country such as Australia, you’ll need either a Level 5 or even a CELTA qualification as it’s much more competitive and there are much fewer jobs. Head over to our sister company, LoveTEFL’s job site to view the jobs they have on offer at the moment – https://lovetefljobs.com/. All the best!
