Tell us about your ultimate trip to win the ultimate adventure!
If money and time were no object, where in the world would you like to go? And what would you do once you got there? Would you trek up Kilimanjaro, go on a safari through South Africa, surf in Costa Rica, lounge on a tropical Thai beach...? Would you volunteer and get under the skin of a country, or stay in five star luxury? Would you spend an entire year globe-trotting, or would you just do a short jaunt round a particular area?
Whatever you'd like to do, or wherever you'd like to go, write about your ultimate trip on Campfire to win one of three Ultimate adventures. Just remember - we here at i-to-i don't decide who wins - you need to get as many of your fellow travellers on Campfire to vote for your trip as possible! (sneaky hint: publicise your trip and get everyone you know to sign up to Campfire to vote for you!)
If the travellers of Campfire judge YOUR ultimate trip to be the best, you'll win one of OUR ultimate adventures, flights to get you there, a camcorder to record your trip AND a rucksack full of goodies, worth over £200 to see you on your way. The winner will also blog about their adventure on Campfire.
The Prizes
Ultimate Tanzania
In this incredible four week trip, you'll start in Tanzania's vibrant capital, Dar es Salaam, before travelling to the world famous Selous Game reserve to see some of this country's incredible wildlife. You'll then head to Moshi in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, where you'll work with young children for a week before heading off to experience life with a Masai community and taking a safari into the spectacular N'Gorongoro crater. There'll even be a day of trekking in the foothills of Kili! Then, after all the exploring and volunteering is over, you'll be whisked away to the beach paradise of Zanzibar to kick back!
Ultimate Costa Rica
Is it possible to experience everything Costa Rica has to offer in a month? Sadly, no, but this incredible trip gets pretty darn close! Your adventure will see you travelling to the base of the active Arenal volcano, flying by zip line through the magical cloud forests, lounging on the golden beaches of the Pacific coast and swaying gently to reggae beats while running your toes through the black sands of the Caribbean coast. After spending a few days building homes for Costa Rican families in need, you will also have a chance to catch a few waves during your surf lesson and help look after some surprisingly adorable sea turtles.
Ultimate Thailand
Ditch the banana pancake trail and get off the beaten track in Thailand. After exploring the serenity of the Grand Palace and the modern madness of the Khao San Road in Bangkok, it's off to Lopburi to learn how to cook and speak Thai. You'll then be taken to a local temple for three days of meditation and Thai massage before heading to Kanchanburi and a floating guesthouse, which will be your home for a few peaceful days. The penultimate stop on the trip is the coastal town of Chumpon where you can sample life on a community farm as well as the beach, before heading to Koh Tao to lend a hand on a beach conservation project.
How to enter
- To enter, you'll need to be a member of our fantabulous community forum, Campfire. If you're not already, don't worry - it's easy to get started. Just sign up here.
- Once you're up and running on Campfire, you'll need to join the Ultimate Blog for the Ultimate Adventure Campfire
- Then, start a new blog post by clicking the 'add new journal entry' button on the top bar.
- Pick a catchy title and then write about your ultimate trip (it can either be one you've already been on, or one you'd like to go on - remember time and money are no object!)
- IMPORTANT: While you're writing your blog, make sure you select the 'Ultimate Blog for the Ultimate Adventure Campfire' in the drop-down 'share with your Campfires' list and then click 'Add to this Campfire'. If you don't do this your blog will NOT be entered into the competition. For more information see the video guide here.
- Once you've entered you need to get as many people as possible to sign up to Campfire to vote for you (we have to get people to sign up to avoid spammers!). Check out our video guide to publicising your blog here!
- You can also browse the Ultimate Blog for the Ultimate Adventure Campfire and vote for other people's entries - to do so just click on the number of stars you want to give a blog post in the rating section under the blog post.

The Rules
- The winner will need to choose which Ultimate trip they want to take part in one week after notification of winning. They will be expected to travel before the end of September 2010.
- The prize: The prize will include:
- Either the Ultimate Tanzania, Ultimate Thailand or Ultimate Costa Rica trip
- Return flights
- Camcorder
- Rucksack and travel goodies worth over £200 courtesy of Nomad
- The winner will form part of a marketing campaign just before they travel, while they are away and for a small amount of time after they return
- The six blogs with the most number of votes will be entered into a shortlist stage on 30th October
- The result will be announced on 27th November
- In the event of a tie or any voting disputes/irregularities, i-to-i UK Ltd will make the final decision, which is final.
