When you’re comparing TEFL courses, one of the most important things to look at is the actual content of the course. Here, we’ve provided a short breakdown of the units you’ll cover in this course. Why not take a quick look?

Part 1: Level 5 180 Hour Online TEFL Course

    Unit 1: Introduction

Unit 2: How to Plan a Lesson

Unit 3: How to Structure a Lesson

Starting with warmers and coolers, the PPP method and different teaching techniques, we’ll guide you through structuring lessons that are successful and simple to deliver.

Unit 4: How to Manage a Classroom

A practical side to TEFL teaching, managing your classroom can be very important in terms of keeping your students focused. This unit will demonstrate how having a good teaching environment can make such a difference.

Unit 5: How to Teach Vocabulary

Vocabulary is part of the nitty-gritty of the English language – and it can be difficult to teach if you don’t have the right skills. In this unit, you’ll find out how to teach it in a way that your students understand easily.

Unit 9: Teaching Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening

In Unit 9, you’ll be given techniques for helping your students to speak, listen to, read and write English. You’ll also get some ideas for lessons and a variety of approaches for teaching the four skills.

FAQs: Answered

  • Q: Do I need 320 hours of TEFL training to get a teaching job?

This all depends on what you want to do with your qualification. The minimum number of hours needed to find a basic TEFL job is 120 but anything on top of that means you’ll be in with a much better chance of finding a better job with a higher salary and more benefits.

  • Q: What’s the difference between the Level 3 and the Level 5 320 Hour courses?

The higher the level = the more employable you become! Essentially, you’ll be given better opportunities with a Level 5 qualification but it is possible to teach abroad with a Level 3. Check out our TEFL Course comparison page to find out more.

  • Q: Do I need to complete the full 320 hours all at once?

Good news – no, you don’t! In your confirmation email, you’ll get links to each part of the Course and you can activate these as and when you’re ready to. This way, you can complete one section at a time to make everything easier to digest.

  • Q: Can I teach abroad if I don’t have a bachelor’s degree?

100% yes! It’s true that a few countries ask for a degree for visa purposes but most don’t. So, do a bit of research before you book your flights and soon you’ll be living the TEFL dream!

  • Q: Does it matter that I’m not a native English speaker?

Whether English is your second, third, fourth or seventeenth language, you can still teach English abroad. As long as you have a near-native level of English, you can take our Level 5 320 Hour Diploma in TEFL and find a teaching job abroad.

  • Q: How long do I get to complete the course?

To complete the 180 hours of online training, you'll get 180 days.

For the 60 hour specialist courses, you'll get 35 days each.

The weekend element of the training is 20 hours spread over 2 days in the classroom.

More often than not, our graduates complete the course in less time than this, but if you're struggling for time, don't worry, we offer extensions for up to a year.

  • Q: Do I need teaching experience to take this course?

Good news – no, you don’t! This Course was designed to teach you how to teach so don’t worry if you’ve never taught before, you’ll learn everything you need to know right here.
