Course breakdown

  • How it works

The beauty of the 200 hour TEFL course is that it’s truly flexible. Because the majority of your studying will be done online all you’ll need is the internet and you’re good to go. When it comes to your weekend TEFL course it’s up to you whether you pick the date up front or you can opt for the flexi-option and decide when it works for you.

We know that studying online comes with its own challenges which is why all of our courses give you dedicated and helpful feedback from expert tutors. They’re there to answer your questions and help you become the great TEFL teacher you can be. Plus there’s always the weekend course for you to talk through any tricky things that you come across.

And if you’re thinking that the course is going to be 200 hours of boredom you can think again! Our courses are jam-packed with quizzes, interactive real-life scenarios and videos to help you put the theory into practice.

FAQs: Answered

  • Q: Can I change the specialist courses to something else?

Unfortunately not. We carefully picked the additional specialist courses based on customer feedback and our expert TEFL knowledge. If you want to keep studying (which we always encourage!) we offer several other specialist courses, so if there’s something else you fancy you can always add it on later.

  • Q: How soon before I’m teaching abroad?

Keen to get out there and live the TEFL dream? You could be teaching in the sunshine in as little as three months.

We find most people take four to six weeks to complete the 120 hour online course. You can complete the classroom course at any point, it's totally up to you. It’s up to you whether you want to wait until you’ve completed the specialist courses before applying for jobs but the minimum requirement for TEFL is 120 hours training.

  • Q: How long will I get to complete the course?

To complete the 120 hour element of your course, you'll get 70 days/10 weeks.

For the 30 hour modules, you'll have 21 days to complete each one.
