Boost your TEFL learning from basic to extensive with our Level 5 180 Hour Online TEFL Course. Through this comprehensive Course, not only will you be equipped with all the tools necessary to become a successful TEFL teacher, but your qualification will also be regarded more highly than the majority of TEFL qualifications due to its sought-after Level 5 status.

FAQs: Answered

  • Q: Why should I take a Level 5 TEFL Course over a Level 3?

We offer both Level 3 and Level 5 Courses but we’d always recommend taking a Level 5 Course if your budget can stretch to it. With a Level 5, you’ll be given even more job opportunities, an increased chance of earning more and you’re job applications will be prioritised over those with Level 3 Courses or lower.

  • Q: Do I need 180 hours of TEFL training to find work?

The minimum number of hours you’ll need to complete to find a basic TEFL job or volunteer position is 120. Anything more than that will mean you’re more likely to find a better role for a higher salary – so it depends on what you want to do with your qualification.

  • Q: Can I take some in-class learning alongside the Level 5 180 Course?

Yes! We offer a Level 3 Classroom TEFL Course which can be added to any of our Level 5 Courses to help boost your learning and it also makes you more desirable to employers – win!

  • Q: English isn’t my first language. Will I still be able to teach English abroad?

Yep! Tons of our graduates are from non-native English speaking countries and they’re pursuing their TEFL careers all over the world. As long as you have a near-native level of English, you can take a Level 5 Course. If you're not quite at a near-native level, check out our Level 3 TEFL Courses instead.

  • Q: How much grammar will I be expected to know?

The Course will teach you everything you need to know about grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary, so don’t worry if grammar’s not your strongest subject – we’ve got you covered.

  • Q: How long do I get to complete the course?

To complete the 180 hours of online training, you'll get 120 days. This usually allows more than enough time for our teachers to work through the training. Don't panic if you do run out of time - we offer extensions for up to a year which can be added at any time.

  • Q: Why shouldn’t I take a CELTA?

CELTA stands for Certificate in Teaching English to Adults, so if you want to teach children and teenagers, a Level 5 TEFL Course is your best option. Also, a CELTA qualification costs around £1,500 and requires 6 weeks of full-time, in-class training. It’s a no-brainer!
