In Claire and Anthony’s previous article and videos, they received practical training in TEFL teaching, and learnt more about Chinese culture by practising calligraphy, tai chi and Mandarin. However, it wasn’t all work and no play as all of the interns got to explore Beijing and see what it had to offer. On the 1st March, ImmerQi held a ‘cultural day’ where interns visited the Great Wall of China, the Olympic Park and Hutongs; but since then, Claire and Anthony have been exploring Beijing further – navigating their way around the metro (confusing stuff!), visiting the Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City. Think of the videos as virtual guides – we can’t be held responsible if you find the urge to book yourself a space on the China internship after watching though!
Claire and Anthony have since been placed in a school in Wuxi in the Jiangsu province, just under an hour away from Shanghai, where they are now teaching English!
