i-to-i Thailand intern John Although my experience in Thailand has been short, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself and have come to love this country. I love it so much I would be overjoyed to stay; there are still so many things to see and do.

John, Thailand

i-to-i Thailand intern Kenisha Being in Thailand has opened new prospects for me. The Thai people are so friendly and overly accommodating; and as a culture they’re very respectful to people in a higher position than themselves. Working with children has pushed me, but it’s also been a massive reward.

Kenisha, Thailand

i-to-i Thailand intern Emma Teaching and living in Thailand has been such a life-changing experience. In the past six months I have learnt, seen and done so many new things, and been to so many new places. I have learnt how to speak a bit of Thai and most importantly, teach children English; such a fun and fulfilling thing to do!

Day 6 - 149

Your teaching experience

You’ll teach at one of the partner schools located across Thailand, our in-country team will let you know where you’re placed before you start the job.

You’ll have 5 months to really get involved in local life and the day-to-day running of the school. You’ll typically be teaching a full time schedule of around 20-22 face-to-face hours a week, with the rest of the working day assigned to planning lessons and other teacher duties. And it doesn’t stop at English. With the support of your school you’ll get the chance to teach other fun subjects such as mathematics and science.

You’ll get accommodation provided for you and receive a very generous living allowance of 22,000THB per month – that’s about £500/US$620 and more than enough to live really well by local standards.

Our partners will be on hand to provide 24/7 remote support just in case you need them, so don’t hesitate to call on their insider knowledge!

Day 150

After teaching

At the end of your teaching experience, it’s really up to you how you proceed. Plenty of our teachers have found full-time teaching jobs in Thailand and further afield with the assistance of the in-country team. If you fancy just continuing on with your travels then you’ll be really well equipped with all your TEFL experience. If you want to head home after your TEFL Job don’t forget you’ll need to book a return flight from Bangkok.
