Widely regarded as the home of the Inca civilization, travel in Peru has way more to offer volunteers than just a trek to Machu Picchu. The Amazon River runs through the jungles, the Coast has beautiful beaches, valleys and spectacular sand dunes and the peaks of the high Andes run the length of the country. The scenery? Awe-inspiring!
More on Volunteering in Peru
If you are looking to volunteer in Peru you’re in the right place! Here at i-to-i, we work with locally run volunteering organisations across the country and our volunteers are involved with conservation and community work, as well as teaching English and even an archaeology internship!
Our projects are located all around the country, so you could even volunteer at more than one project to find out more about this incredible place. (The question is: who wouldn't volunteer with llamas?). Whilst you're in-country, don't forget to check out Machu Picchu, the ancient Inca Ruins and the Amazon Rainforest. Lima is a great city to hang out in too, and has a great backpacker/travellers scene. If you want to meet a load of new people, this is the place! (Talk about ticking off a load of your bucket list!)
