Hey Hey Hey Matthew!! *
Already been exploring the city of Madurai where we had beers on the rooftop of our hotel, looking over at the beautiful and utterly fabulous Meenakshi temple...had skirts and bags made to measure my the tailors in rapid time and discovered the ancient Hindu temples and was exposed to a spot or two of Kum Kum, the powder that Hindu people place in the centre of their brow when within the temple and around. Top stuff!!
Busy, busy times teaching the children and getting stuck in with new ideas and games...they particularly like our new song, 'The sun has got his hat on!'. The internship, ACCESS is really great, and it is amazing to be part of the community so quickly! We have some of the children's sponsors coming next week so lots of preparation to do!!
The food is great! Really enjoying it...and learning how to cook it! Having some Indian cookery lessons which is great! Learnt how to make Dosas and side dishes! Yum! The, to burn of the industral amount of carbs we are suddenly consuming, a course of Indian dance lessons are underway! Pretty difficult to remember all the steps, but we'll get there!
The night life in Bangalore is pretty cool. Been to a couple of clubs and they have been really quite sleek and trendy...despite the fact we looked more Indian and conservative in our custom made Indian skirts than the locals did!! Haha. Really nice to ge a drink, although my vodka and lemonade was 260 rupees! EEk, that's like 3.40 pounds!Off to see a Brian Adams concert tonight! haha. Come to India and watch Mr.Adams strum out 'Summer of '69'...don't think my friends at home will quite believe it!
Well, time to sign off...having an amazing adventure, it's just such an amazing place and filled with brilliant people (except the few ricksaw drivers that try to rip you off....)
Take care Matt, hope England is ok without us!
Best, Flynn Lund
