Wildlife conservation in Sri Lanka

Nicknamed the teardrop of India, Sri Lanka even looks attractive on a map; so wait until you get amongst the highlands, deep valleys and picture postcard beaches. What it lacks in size, Sri Lanka certainly makes up for in beauty! Unfortunately an expanding population on a small island means wildlife conservation in Sri Lanka is crucial. The locals could do with the help of volunteers looking for jobs abroad with animals to help animals like the island’s elephants and leopards.

Travel in Sri Lanka

If you do fancy spending your holiday on a beach, you may as well go to the best beaches in the world and enjoy a holiday i-to-i style! Like all our tours in Asia you can help put something back to the local area while you’re there. In this case you’ll play a part in vital turtle conservation. The sea turtles found on the island are in danger of extinction and the project is still suffering the aftermath of the tsunami in 2004. You will help the project through hands-on work with animals as well as by giving tours around the project.
