Honduras dips her toes in the Caribbean Sea then rises up into dense mountainous jungles that have stopped development in its tracks and left the country unspoiled. You get the impression that this island suits the tropical birds and jaguars that wander its jungles better than the people perched on its rugged landscape.
Wildlife conservation in Honduras allows you to get hands on experience with Honduras’ national treasures with wildlife preservation projects all over the country. Our volunteer projects focus on the wildlife and their habitat giving you the chance to work in the stunning Lancetilla Gardens (the second largest botanical gardens in the world) and the gorgeous tropical cloud forest in the national park. For those who want to work with animals, why not help animals in their natural environment and work with the Utila iguana on the Bay Islands or work with our new favourite animal (well you’ve seen the photo on the other page haven’t you?) the manatee on a wonderful wildlife refuge on the Carribbean coast.
