TEFL Jobs for Graduates

Stories from Graduates Teaching English Abroad

Every year thousands of university graduates from around the world take a TEFL course and head off to find work teaching English abroad. It’s a good way to gain a little extra experience and have a well deserved adventure after all those years of hard work at college! And because you have degree there are thousands more opportunities out there for you!

Paul’s Story

Paul Dixon, 24, graduated from York St John University and jetted off to Japan to start his first TEFL adventure!

“I graduated from university in 2009 from a Film and TV course. Initially when I began the course I was planning on going into the industry but unfortunately the loss of jobs meant I had to re think everything. I reviewed my skills and having spent 2 years working in an educational museum I thought I would go into teaching, BUT I did not want to teach in England.

I came across i-to-i, signed up on the Professional TEFL Course and have never regretted it… By doing my TEFL course it not only meant I was able to teach English with the newly learnt skills and know how, but also to see the world. I have been able to use my TEFL qualification and my degree to get a job in Japan.

Since completing the course in January 2010 I accepted a job working in Japan in Miyako City. My adventure has only just begun. Who knows what will happen now that the world is truly my oyster.”
