TEFL Tutor – Katia Berntzen
I have been working as a TEFL teacher for more than 16 years. Sixteen very grateful years indeed as I have always enjoyed teaching a great deal.
I finished university in 1989 and moved to Britain in order to study and pass my Proficiency Examination, which I successfully did!
I have been through a number of TEFL specialization courses and am currently writing my MA in TESOL dissertation, which has given me a wonderful opportunity to research a wide range of issues on the latest TEFL developments - an unforgettable challenge!
I "stepped" into online tutoring in 2002 shortly after my youngest and "adorable" daughter’s birth as an attempt to fulfil my "hard-working" personality and get to grips with a long maternity leave, big thing was - I simply loved it!
It is amazing to think that the broadband internet and the new web based communication technologies have evolved to such a fantastic stage.
Being able to deliver English lessons/training via the internet has greatly enhanced my teaching profile and even improved on my traditional classroom sessions helping me prepare more interesting lessons and motivating materials.
Over the years I have taught students of different nationalities via e-mail and more recently started working for a French Company as a (VoIP) telephone teacher, another wonder of communication technology.
This multicultural teaching experience has positively enriched my performance as a TEFL professional, and showed me a new world of invaluable adventures.
I am more than happy to welcome you on board and wish you the best of luck with your virtual experience.
