There is simply no better way to get to grips with a new country and culture than by learning the local language! We’ve teamed up with Cactus Language so that you can combine your travel experience with an extensive language course.
Courses are run by native speaking professional teachers and include a full range of extra-curricular activities which give you a chance to meet fellow travellers, explore the local area and practice your new found language skills.
A language course is the perfect add-on to any volunteer project and the best way to really enhance your experience. It’s often said that the more you put into a volunteer trip, the more you get back, so it’s a brilliant way to get the most from your time away.
These overseas learning programs are great for college or university students who want to build up their CV’s. Not only will you boast international travel experience but you’ll possess those much-sought-after language skills that employers are mad for!
Courses last from 1-12 weeks and are available in a wide selection of our host countries. So you can learn:
- Spanish in Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Peru
- Or Mandarin in China
- Or Portuguese in Brazil
Plus there are tonnes of other locations and languages besides – from Arabic to Yiddish – so even if you’re not taking a volunteer trip, you can still learn as you travel.
Remember, it's not just endless study...picking up a language is as much about getting out there and doing it as it is about learning verb tables. These language and activity courses offer you the chance to combine language classes with a whole range of exciting activities: so you could find yourself studying Portuguese and Samba in Salvador or Spanish and Surfing in Costa Rica. You don’t need any experience, so even if you don’t know a point break from coffee break, you’ll have a great time with people from across the globe and come back having learnt a whole lot more than a language!
"I had not anticipated that language classes could be so enjoyable… they were so much fun and the quality of teaching was superb and I was very impressed. The school complemented the classes with a series of really enjoyable outings around Cusco with a Spanish-speaking guide. I had a great time"
