NEW YEAR, NEW ADVENTURE
i-to-i Launches a String of Top Travel Alternatives for 2008

With the winter weather at its worst and that post Christmas slump at its lowest, it’s never been a better time to pick yourself up by planning for the year ahead. With that in mind, i-to-i, the meaningful travel expert has launched a string of new trips to help drive away those January blues and excite and inspire a jaded nation.

Here are just a few new altruistic escapes on offer with i-to-i this year:

Sloth Rehabilitation in Costa Rica
Slow things right down by spending some time with these seriously laid back creatures and get involved in a range of rehabilitation tasks to help return them to their natural habitat. Based at a unique animal rescue center which cares for over 90 endangered sloths, you’ll be involved in maintaining jungle trails, running tours, cleaning cages and assisting the specialists to speed up this slow mover’s return to the wild.
4-12 week placements available from £895

Teach English to Disadvantaged Young Women in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
If teaching is more your thing, you could make a real difference to the lives of ambitious young women in Kuala Lumpur on this fulfilling English teaching placement. Conserve and Swim with Dolphins in Mozambique
Make a splash on this conservation project and experience the stunning coastline of Mozambique on a whole new level as you help monitor the local dolphin, turtle and coral fish population. Build Homes for Disadvantaged Children in Swaziland
In Swaziland the effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic have been devastating, leaving many households to be headed by children. Without adults, these children struggle to build and maintain their homes and so volunteers on this project have the opportunity to give much needed-assistance to these vulnerable children. You’ll be based in the Royal Ezulwini Valley within easy reach of Lobamba, the spiritual home of the Swazi nation, so as well as making a valuable contribution to the community, in your free time, you can experience traditional culture, Game Reserves and Nature Parks rich in wildlife, including the Big 5.
4-8 week placements available from £1295

Work Experience with Reptiles in South Africa
Finally, if you’ve always wanted to learn about reptiles and arachnids, then why not get hands-on and help care for them at the famous Khami Reptile Park. Get stuck into a variety of practical tasks, from cleaning enclosures to assessing animals' health and computer database work to organise medical records. Here you’ll see all manner of species from tortoises, frogs and Nile crocodiles, to scorpions, baboons and spiders. A regular feature on documentaries, the park continues to work with the BBC, National Geographic and Animal Planet and is even frequented by Sir David Attenborough.
