THE GREAT ESCAPE!
Spend your summer hols in South Africa with i-to-i

Leading meaningful travel provider i-to-i is offering young globe trotters the getaway of a lifetime with the launch of a new 2008 summer camp in South Africa – exclusively for 16-22 year olds.

Taking place across two 14-day trips starting on 28th July and 11th August 2008, the summer camps will highlight the very best of South Africa, from its unique wildlife through to its vibrant cultures and communities.

Based at the beachside resort of Kommetjie close to Cape Town, the camp will be run and organized by experienced camp leaders and packed with a variety of daytime and evening activities from assault courses and rock pooling, to surfing lessons, beach walks, barbecues and tours.

A trip up Table Mountain, a must for any visitor to the region, is included in this jam packed itinerary along with visits to the V&A Waterfront, the Simonstown and Naval museums and the Slangkop Nature Reserve, plus a tour of the magnificent Cape Point.

There’ll be a range of conservation activities on offer including beach clearing and kennel building, as well as a chance to explore the local wildlife with baboon walks, a visit to see the penguins at Boulders Beach and a trip to Seal Island. Evening activities in the camp will include drumming sessions, Potjie (traditional South African cooking) competitions, movies, and lectures from local experts on different aspects of life and nature on the Cape.

In addition to exploring and learning about this fascinating destination, the young explorers will have the opportunity to give something back by spending time on some important local community development projects, working with underprivileged children and getting involved in local restoration activities.

XXX of i-to-i comments, “South Africa has been a long time favourite with i-to-iers and it’s great to be able to offer younger travellers the opportunity to experience it for themselves. This summer camp is unlike anything they’d experience on a ‘normal’ holiday in Cape Town and we hope it will send them home not only inspired and excited by travel, but with a greater understanding of a fantastic destination and its unique culture and history.”

The two-week summer camp costs £995* including accommodation, meals, activities, equipment and training. Start dates are 28th July and 11th August 2008. To learn more or to find out about other travel options available through i-to-i, please call 1-800-352-1793 or visit www.i-to-i.com.
