As for me it was a bit difficult in the beginning to coordinate my course with my new job I often asked my tutor to mark my work immediatly. sometimes I got feedback within a few hours. The final lectures I was doing from my new workplace in Eastern Africa ( Uganda) where there was frequent problems with internet access. here again he was very co-operative. By the way do you write co-operative or cooperative? Somehow as a teacher you will be going on learning all your life....

I'm so thankful to my tutor, Melinda Gleeson, for giving me a lot of practical suggestions/alternatives on the answers to the activities in the course, for being so considerate when I was beyond my course deadline, and for following-up on i-to-i administrative work when there was something wrong with the DVD I received.

I suprised myself how dedicated I became to setting time aside to learn and complete the course. I was a bit dubious to the thought of online courses-but this has given me further incentive to perhaps follow up with further courses once I settle abroad. The course was set out well and followed the natural steps to becoming a successful tefl teacher. My main regret is that I didn't have the time to do the weekend course as I am moving abroad shortly. I should have set time aside to do this because I haven't had any practical experience. Perhaps once abroad I may apply for some voluntary work to give me more confidence and experience in the classroom. I would also like to thank you for all the useful information on this module.

I found the TEFL course to be a challenging but rewarding course to undertake. I did this course 1 1/2 years post university as in my current job my brain was not being "taxed" very much, doing the TEFL work has provided me with something that I had to "switch on" for and think about for the first time in along time.

I thoroughly enjoyed my i-to-i experience, and as I explored the website and discussions, I was delighted to see an organisation that is giving young people a skill with their own language and providing opportunities for them to make 'gap year' experiences worthy and worthwhile. I am proud to be part of this well delivered and useful program, and will be keen to participate in volunteer ventures after my own teen leaves school.

I found this very helpful. I am a qualified teacher but learned it all a long time ago and never used my qualification. This was an excellent way of re-introducing and re-affirming what I learned all those years ago. I found the fact that I could go at my own pace less daunting than an intensive classroom course.
