NEW GAP ADVENTURES FOR 2007!

For those who really want to make the most of their upcoming gap years, i-to-i has a wealth of fantastic new projects on offer. Whether it’s riding a bike through Cambodia or helping to conserve Madagascar’s wildlife, i-to-i can find the project that not only suits your personality but can also help you to build confidence, gain independence and improve future prospects. And if you only have the summer to spare, i-to-i has projects from as little as one week! Gap summer anyone?
Here’s a pick of the hottest projects from the ‘meaningful travel’ people:

Join the party with carnival preparation in Rio
For the month of February Rio transforms itself into a frenzy of singing and dancing as people take to the streets to join the Carnival. This is a rare opportunity to get involved behind the scenes - helping out with anything from building stages to making costumes and floats! On top of this you'll have a chance to explore one of the world's most exciting cities.
From £695 (4 – 12 week placements available)

Biking Through Cambodia's Beautiful Countryside
There's a little something for everyone on this eco tour through the beautiful Cambodian countryside. Not only will you visit Cambodia's bustling cities, but you'll also have the chance to explore the country's most famed sights such as the temples of Angkor Wat, the infamous Killing Fields and the largest lake in South East Asia, Tonle Sap. As you explore the local culture you will have the opportunity to learn about efforts to protect the environment and develop the eco-tourism industry.
Two week tour - £1,795. The fee for this tour funds both the communities you work with and the i-to-i charity arm – The i-to-i Foundation.

Work in a surf school in the Caribbean
This is a great opportunity to improve your surfing, spend a few weeks on the Dominican beach and learn all there is to know about the surf business in one of the world's premier destinations. You'll spend your time here at a surf school near the northern coastal town of Cabarete learning to surf and getting involved in all aspects of the business from giving lessons, to taking bookings and even building boards!
From £845 (4-12 week placements available)

Eco Tour: The Peruvian Andes experience
This is a unique opportunity to interact with the people of Peru, far removed from the usual tourist routes. Here you’ll engage in a variety of eco objectives and activities from helping your host family build a fuel efficient cooking stove to assisting with reforestation programs in the area and helping to educate the local community about the importance of trees and the forest.
From £695 (1 – 3 week placements available)

Help to Conserve Madagascar’s Exceptional Wildlife
Surrounded by tropical rainforests and brimming with indigenous species, Mandraka offers a wildlife experience like no other and a unique opportunity to see Madagascar’s native wildlife up-close. On this conservation project you’ll not only come face-to-face with a variety of lemur species in their natural habitat but you’ll also find chameleons, frogs and various other reptiles and insects.
From £795 (2 – 6 week placements available)

Teach Inn Uganda
This non-profit project aims to give the children in the small village of Niyakasiru a proper education while providing a steady income for the village. You will be teaching English at the village school and staying at the unique "Teach Inn Uganda" (set to feature in a Channel 4 documentary this Autumn), built to house volunteer teachers and to fund future projects that will benefit the local community.
From £895 (4-12 week placements available)

Way of the Warrior
This two-week project is a unique opportunity to explore the Malaysian jungle and develop your life skills as you go.
