VOLUNTEERS CONTINUE MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR
MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY 2006

With Saturday 28th October almost upon us, it’s time for volunteers around the globe to give up their time and do something truly worthwhile in honour of CSV Make a Difference Day 2006.

In a day that celebrates UK volunteers and the importance of helping others, leading meaningful travel provider i-to-i, who will have a fantastic 365 volunteers placed at numerous worthwhile projects around the world, is offering people the opportunity to make a difference overseas on its expansive range of ethical and worthwhile travel projects around the globe.

With 500 individual projects ranging from 1-24 weeks in 23 countries, i-to-i enables people to get involved in community work, conservation, teaching English, healthcare, the media, building and sports projects.

Here are just a few altruistic volunteer options on offer with i-to-i for those eager to delve deeper into the world of worthwhile work:
Building in Honduras (La Esperanza)
For folk who like getting their hands dirty! This is a truly rewarding project working with Save the Children to build and decorate new homes and schools.

Work at a Sri Lankan orphanage
There are many orphans in Sri Lanka needing attention, affection and education to help them to grow and develop with real prospects for their futures.  A good grasp of English is an essential skill for many of the jobs there and just a simple song of ‘ABC’ could set the younger children along the right path to success.

Hippotherapy with special needs children in Mexico
A unique project and one to suit those with a love for children and horses. Hippotherapy is the incredible practice of mental and physical rehabilitation via horseback and at this cutting edge centre in Northern Mexico you’ll have the chance to make a difference in these children’s lives. An inspiring placement for all involved.

Teach English in Mombasa
Enrich the educational experience and enhance prospects for the next generation of Kenyan youngsters, who too often miss out on school due to the shortage of local teaching staff. Teaching can be challenging but is also hugely rewarding and a great way to become part of the community. So why not give it a go in Kenya?
