i-to-i Awarded FÁS “Excellence Through People” Standard
Leading meaningful travel organisation, i-to-i, has been granted the prestigious FÁS “Excellence Through People” Award, Ireland’s national standard for human resource management. With this award, i-to-i joins a group of only 600 other Irish organisations who have achieved this level of recognition from FÁS.
On 11 July the company underwent a thorough on-site assessment by a member of FÁS, who analysed the company’s human resource policies using the following eight assessment criteria: Business Planning and Quality Improvement, Effective Communication and People Involvement, Leadership and People Management, Planning of Learning and Development, Training and Lifelong Learning, Review of Learning, Recruitment and Selection, and Employee Wellbeing. Members of staff were also interviewed and asked about working conditions and the level of support they receive from their direct managers and senior managers alike.
In her nine-page, in-depth report following the evaluation, the FÁS assessor observed that “high levels of trust, learning and development, confidence, communication and sharing [were] in evidence. The values and critical success factors of the organisation contribute to high performance levels, quality and cost efficiencies.” In conclusion, she noted that “i-to-i [is] an inclusive, hard-working, but fun place to work.” The final decision to grant i-to-i the award was made by an assessment board of Ireland’s top human resource professionals.
Susan Lawlor, i-to-i General Administrator, organised the company’s application for the award and gathered all necessary documents for the assessment process. Upon learning that all her hard work had paid off, Susan commented that “i-to-i being awarded the Excellence Through People Standard is a wonderful achievement. The win reflects the outstanding teamwork of our employees and the high level of commitment from the management team, which is dedicated to supporting staff members and encouraging their ongoing personal and professional development. It’s great to see i-to-i get the recognition it deserves for being such a great place to work!”
