Ghana is typically African, good and bad. Renowned as the friendliest country in a friendly continent it’s also characterised by acute poverty. Coming to help Ghana is good for Ghanaians and a great experience for you. We work with projects in the jumping capital, Accra, which are sure to excite and inspire as much as the legendary Saturday nights here. Come and help Ghana and you may never leave!
As the first African country to end colonialism, Ghana has a proud history and when you volunteer to help Ghana you will get the full tour. Accra is surprisingly understated for an African city. It’s still full of the usual contrasts though, with patchwork shanty towns shadowed by grand colonial buildings and traditional food carts vying with takeaway restaurants for business. Originally a group of small villages, Accra now stretches dozens of kilometres into the plains and is a magnet to travellers in the area. Travelling here and helping Ghana is a great way to see the country and give something back to the community.
