If there was ever a time for adventure, it’s when you’re travelling. And what better way to do it than with an adventure activity or two? Wherever you’re going, you’ll find a whole array of activities await you. And with everything from skydiving to windsurfing, caving to surfing, you’re sure to find something to suit.
Love the water? Then you’re going to love these activities. Many of the countries you’ll be visiting have hot climates and that makes the water irresistible. Better still; most of these activities are fun without being scary. So why not quench your thirst for adventure with some of these fantastic water-based activities?
If you think a ride on a speedboat is exciting then you need to try water skiing! With two skis firmly attached to your feet, you’ll glide over the water with ease. Ok so it’s not quite that easy, but it’s a whole lot of fun. Expect to get very wet.

If you’re looking for an activity that’s high in fun but low in fear, try surfing. It’s a great way to spend a day and perfect for cooling off. You won’t have any trouble finding a surf school; they pop up wherever you get a beach and a decent wave. And if you’re travelling to Australia, well surfing is a must.

Looking for a laugh? Then have a go at windsurfing. The trick to this splash-tastic activity is balance. If you’ve got it, you’ll be great. If you haven’t, you have a fantastically wet time! Either way, an incurable case of the giggles is almost guaranteed.

Want to get the adrenaline pumping? Then a bout of white water rafting could be right up your street. You’ll be taking a high speed, bumpy ride down a rapid-flowing river. Ever wanted to jump out of a plane? Here’s your chance! Sky diving certainly isn’t for the faint hearted, but it is one of the most popular adventure activities available. You go up in a plane and come down attached to a parachute (and a sky diving expert). And there’s about 60 seconds of pure exhilaration before the parachute goes up – unforgettable!

Arguably one of the most terrifying adventure activities you could ever try, Bungee jumping is a firm favourite with travellers. Lowering yourself slowly off a cliff edge takes some guts. Which is why it’s such a great adventure activity. It’s mountain climbing in reverse and it offers all the thrills with only half the effort.

Want to see the world as you’ve never seen it before? Then you need to take your adventures underground! These fantastic activities take you through the secret world beneath our feet and they’re just as active as anything you’d do above the ground! But it’s worth pointing out that if you’re don’t like enclosed spaces, you won’t like these activities.
Exploring underground caves is a great activity to try on your travels. You’ll find yourself walking, crawling, wading and climbing through natural underground tunnels. And not only will you have a great time doing it, but you’ll see some amazing things too.

Imagine abseiling down a really narrow underground passage – that’s what potholing is like. You’ll travel through vertical tunnels under the ground, moving down through a stunning subterranean world until it’s time to climb to the surface again.
