The combination of high altitudes and uphill trails makes this one physically demanding adventure. So you'll have to train before you go to make sure you're fit enough to complete the trek. It's a truly unforgettable experience, so if you think you're up for it, get down to the gym!

Who would have thought there'd be such amazing caving opportunities in Malaysia? Nestled in the Gunung Mulu National Park are some of the best caves the world has to offer. With over 300km of caves mapped so far, you can rest assured that there's plenty to explore. Add to that the fact that this fascinating cave system is home to the biggest cave chambers in the world 'The Sarawak Chamber' and you have a must-see attraction on your hands. So if you're spending a little time in Malaysia, put Gunung Mulu National Park on your to-do list!
Most people make their way to the Everest Base Camp from the Nepal side, but if you're feeling really adventurous, you can do it from the China side. The eight day trek is even more difficult from this side of the mountain, so it's only really an option if you're an experienced trekker or climber. But if you're an adventure travel enthusiast and you want to step up the challenge, this might be just what you're looking for.
Here's an interesting one for you - surfing the Mingsha Dunes! There's no water, there aren't even any surf boards but surfing is definitely what this is. You'll be using a snow board to ride the waves of sand. It's one of the most unconventional adventure activities you'll ever find. Which means it'll stick in your memory for years to come. Oh and it's great fun too!
White water rafting is definitely the activity for Indonesia and the Alas River is the place to do it. It starts in the highlands and drops down 300km through the Gunung Leuser National Park, making it a fantastic ride for every adventurer. The rapids, graded 3-4, are ideal for the more experience rafter. And you can rest assured that you'll see a whole range of weird and wonderful creatures along the way.
How would you like to see Thailand from a new angle? Then try the Tree Top Adventure Park in Koh Chang. You'll find yourself up in the treetops with a whole range of activities ahead of you. There's the zip wires, the rope nets and the Tarzan swings. Add to the the rope bridges, the flying skateboards and the tight ropes and you'll have an adventure playground that's well worth a visit!
With 7,100 islands, the Philippines has a lot of adventure tourism activities to offer. Try surfing in Siargao, Surigao del Norte and see for yourself what Cloud 9 wave is like - coined by a local surfer which named the wave after a chocolate bar unique to the Philippines. Cloud 9 is described as a "thikc, pitching peak takeoff over a reef shelf followed by a hollow section and a clean exit into the channel or a pinching section, depending on swell direction. The wave works on typhoon season groundswell from two feet up to eight feet Hawaiian at peak high tide. On a clean easterly swell and offshore southwest wind, Cloud 9 can be mechanically perfect, with a guaranteed barrel on every wave."
Or wakeboarding in Camarines Sur. Wakeboarding is a surface water sport developed from a combination of water skiing, snowboarding and surfing techniques. Canyoning in scenic Cebu, as you walk, trek, climb, abseil, raft and swim. Choose from 8 meters to 30 meters jump, based on your expertise. The places where you can go canyoning are in densely forested mountain valleys, so you are guaranteed nature in its pure and raw form.
Another adventurous activity is volcano climbing in Albay in the highly active volcano of Mayon. The Knife’s Edge or the level close to the summit is for intermediate to expert climbers. Camp 1 site is good for beginners planning on a day trek. Camp 1 is the base camp used by mountaineers before their final ascent. To reach the campsite at 780 meters above sea level, you’ll trek through different vegetation zones, from rich agricultural land to light Agoho Pine forest and thick giant fern forest.
