Hola!
I'm going to Costa Rica in less than a month (leave Nov. 16th) to look after children in an orphanage in Almares. I'm really looking forward to it but I must admit to being slightly nervous as I've never been travelling before and don't know much Spanish.
I'm currently trying to cram in as much basic Spanish as possible in order to get by so that is helping.
I love children and have quite a caring nature so I think I will most likely really enjoy, and, take a lot from working in the orphanage...its just a whole new adventure waiting to be explored!
I would be really keen to have some advice on taking part in community projects in Costa Rica, such as; the best places to travel to in weekends; the best way to interact with my live-in family; how to make the most of my time etc...
Also if there is anybody who is now or who has volunteered in the orphanage before, I would love to hear about your experience!
Thanks,
Sarah E Fellows
