In a decision those on a gap year in Brazil may not agree with, VirtualTourist.com has compiled its second annual list of the world’s most ugly buildings.
Popular gap year destinations feature in the chart including Wellington’s parliament building in New Zealand, which was noted for its design that resembles "a wedding cake that fell on a waterwheel".
Melbourne’s Federation Square also came under fire for being "frenzied and overly complicated".
The Petrobras Headquarters in Rio de Janeiro also made the list a decision those on gap years in Brazil may beg to differ with.
Giampiero Ambrosi, general manager of VirtualTourist.com, stated: "Many of these buildings don’t have the warmth of an ice cube while others don’t even seem completed. Either way, they make for very interesting conversation."
Earlier this year, Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer status was voted as the most lame new wonder of the world by readers of titanicawards.com.
