Virgin Australia launches new service Virgin Australia has launched a new service between Canberra and Sydney.

The carrier's Capital Connect service will offer up to ten return flights a day between the two cities, the airline reveals.

Career break travellers may be among those to welcome the news, which could make getting around Australia easier for holidaymakers.

When using the service, passengers can expect complementary snacks and drinks.

"From today, Capital Connect guests will have the choice from a three category menu, with high-quality gourmet snacks that has been introduced as part of the airline's enhanced in-flight product offering," comments Virgin Australia Group executive product and guest services Martin Daley.

And travellers planning to visit Sydney as part of their career break may be interested in attending Sydney Rides Festival, which will take place in October.

Celebrating cycling in the city, it is set to feature a range of events, from group biking to musical performances and a street fair.
