Travellers on a gap year in Vietnam may like to watch as the cream of the country’s drink-makers flex their serving muscles as the quest for the region’s best barista kicks off this autumn.

Cappuccino connoisseurs and espresso enthusiasts are invited to attend the Vietnam Barista Competition, the first-ever event of its kind in the country.

Scheduled to take place between October 1st and 3rd in Ho Chi Minh City, the hardworking winner will be presented with a cash prize and the opportunity to travel to Singapore and represent Vietnam in the Asia Barista Championship next year.

The pressure is sure to be on the hopeful contestants as they use their allocated time to prepare a signature beverage at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre.
