A cable car system in Vietnam has set two Guinness World Records (GWR), it has emerged.
The Ba Na cable car in Da Nang city set the record for the largest gap in height between departure and arrival stations and also for the longest single-string system in the world, reports the Vietnam News Agency.
Connecting the Vong Nguyet Hill with the foot of Ba Na Mountain, the system has a length of more than 5km and stretches for over 1.2km up the mountain.
Lucia Sinigagliesi, a representative of GWR, presented the official certificate to the Ba Na Cable Car Service Company, which invests in the project.
Ms Sinigagliesi said Vietnam has accrued 11 GWRs so far, however the cable car award is the country’s first for science and technology.
Those embarking on volunteering holidays in Vietnam soon might be interested to learn that the annual Thay Pagoda Festival is scheduled to take place in May.
