TV presenter recommends gap year travel A TV presenter from the UK has spoken about her travel experiences and has highlighted the value of gap year travel.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Kate Thornton, who is currently presenting Strictly Come Dancing Live, says that working as a BBC travel reporter for five years "changed the way I approach holidays, the world, my life and even the human race".

Though the star values the importance of travel, she reveals that she "didn’t have a gap year after school or university".

However, she intends to pass on the importance of seeing the world to her son when he grows up.

"Travel enhances your entire outlook on life and it’s never too late to take a gap year. I’m going to insist that my son travels when he is older," she explained.

Meanwhile, those interested n travelling but are hoping to stick to a budget may be interested in recommendations from HostelWorld.com, which this week announced the winners of its Hoscar awards.
