Visitors to Sydney can still enjoy the Australian city on a shoestring.
Suite101 writer Sharmishta Sarkar gave an account of how travellers could get the most out of it without spending a lot of money.
The travel author explained that a number of the city’s attractions, such as the Sydney Olympic Park and the Royal Botanical Gardens, are free to enter and enjoy.
She also suggested taking bushwalks in the areas around the city, such as the Manly Scenic Walk that encompasses the Sydney Harbour National Park.
Beaches are also free to enjoy, with the Manly, Cronulla and Palm beaches alternatives to the more famous Bondi.
Adventurous travellers were recently urged to try activities such as canoeing and climbing in Australia.
Sarah Baxter, deputy editor of Wanderlust, suggested taking the small vessels through the Katherine Gorge or climbing Mount Conner, which is close to Uluru.
Tourists are not encouraged to climb Uluru itself, as it is sacred to the native Aboriginal people.
