Now that the suspense of the A-level and GCSE results season is over, thousands of young Brits will no doubt have their minds firmly focused on taking a gap year abroad.
So, those about to grab their sleeping bags and kiss their parents goodbye for the year may like to glance through the Telegraph’s directory of gap year opportunities.
Featuring 100 suggestions for people to turn to for advice on a gap year abroad, the newspaper’s gap year advice section suggests browsing through the opportinites and volunteering abroad projects available through i-to-i, specialists in this field.
For those who have received their exam results and need some time to think about their future, "a gap year provides a perfect opportunity to see some of the world’s wonders," and consider their options, the newspaper advises.
Meanwhile, Britain’s younger generations are not the only ones in love with gap years abroad at present, it would appear.
According to the gapyear.com, increasing numbers of people who have been made redundant during the recession are spending their severance pay on gap years abroad.
