Two parks in Sydney have been given a range of safety upgrades to make them more pleasant for local residents and visitors.
According to City of Sydney, the Bourke Street and Walla Mulla parks will be reopened on August 20th, which may interest those on a gap year in the metropolis.
As part of the opening ceremonies, attendees will be treated to a free barbecue and entertainment.
Lord mayor Clover Moore comments: "This is all about greening Sydney and providing quality open space for people to sit and enjoy the city," adding that these kinds of changes help to bolster the location's 2030 sustainability targets.
Among the improvements made to Bourke Street Park are a designated space for a community garden, new furniture and paving.
Meanwhile, Walla Mulla Park now boasts better lighting and pruned vegetation, with the aim of improving visibility.
Earlier this month, the city's Three Saints Square was kitted out with new paving, additional trees and rain gardens in a bid to make it a greener location.
