Sweet-lovers on a gap year in China may be pleased to hear that a theme park dedicated to monuments idolised in chocolate has opened its doors in Beijing.
Celebrating all things creative and sugary, the World Chocolate Wonderland is located close to the so-called Bird’s Nest Stadium and aims to impress locals and visitors alike, reported AFP.
It contains chocolate replicas of recognisable monuments such as the country’s Great Wall, the Terracotta Armies and even features a model of a BMW.
Travellers who want to pay it a visit will have to do so before the exhibition closes in April ahead of the warmer, humid months.
However, they need not fear, as the attraction will open again next January with a new batch of sweet delights to ogle at.
For a more permanent sight, gap year travellers in China could head to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in southern Hunan, home to the Southern Sky Column.
The natural stone feature has now been renamed Hallelujah Island, the Daily Mail reported, after James Cameron used it as inspiration for his latest film, Avatar.
