Responsible travel is not something that businesses consider enough when they are sending their employees away on business trips.
This is the opinion of Ken McLeod, director of corporate issues at Business Travel Management, who has stated that business travel is not as eco-friendly as it could be.
"The reality is the majority of companies are not so conscious of, or are not paying any particular attention to, that area," he commented.
According to Mr McLeod, "the cost or service element of the product tends to outweigh being more environmentally friendly" for many firms.
In related news, those who are interested in responsible travel may like to take a trip to New York next year.
State authorities bought a run-down island in 2003 and now plan to turn it into an eco-friendly attraction for tourists.
