There number of people applying for work permits in New Zealand has not fallen since last year, despite the recession.
This is according to Immigration New Zealand, gap year travellers and those on sabbaticals or volunteering abroad projects are still enthusiastic about travelling to the nation.
One country that has agreed with this claim is Fiji, whose New Zealand High Commission is even encouraging some Fijian expats to apply for extensions to continue their adventures in the country, reported Global Visas.
It also informed that there were 97,000 work permits granted to overseas workers during the second half of last year.
Meanwhile, a poll carried out last November by Alliance & Lester found that New Zealand placed first when it came to the best place to live among Brits.
Its cost of living, quality of life and lack of a language barrier were cited as strong incentives for Brits to move to or visit the country.
