New Zealand''s north ''a semi sub-tropical paradise'' Visitors to New Zealand can enjoy extremely beautiful landscapes, a travel writer has said.

In an article for Suite101, John Huw described Northland, or Tai Tokerau, in the north of the country as "a semi sub-tropical paradise", citing its mild weather and beautiful coastline.

Mr Huw also referred to it as "one of New Zealand’s jewels".

He explained that the east of the region, which reaches into the Pacific Ocean, has some of the best islands and beaches in New Zealand, being less windy than the west.

The area also has historical significance, as it encompasses Waitangi, where a treaty was signed between Maoris and Britain in 1840.

Recently, it was announced that a new portal called Remarkables Park is opening in New Zealand.

Visitors will be able to enjoy recreational activities as well as going shopping.
Special projects co-ordinator for Remarkables Park Olivia Porter said that the project has received a positive response from people.
