Jazz Festival fun on a gap year in the Philippines Travellers enjoying a gap year in the Philippines could be among those to enjoy a jazz festival taking place in Manila.

Starting later this month, The Story of Jazz will run between August 23rd and 28th at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The festival will include performances from international acts and local artists alike, covering a range of genres.

Among the styles set to be played to visitors are blues, be bop, ragtime, experimental and modal.

And attendees can expect to feel as if they are in authentic jazz lounges during their time at the festival, with the rooms of the Cultural Center ready to be decorated to give an intimate atmosphere.

Founded in 1966, the venue was created to showcase and preserve national arts and culture.

Dance, music and theatre companies reside there, while it also hosts workshops, seminars and exhibitions, among other events.
