A group of Brits have set off on a journey that will see them hunt down the highlights of various locations cross the globe – with a collective budget of just £5,000.
Sponsored and devised by the online travel agent ebookers, the challenge attracted over 2,000 applicants, but only 15 were chosen for the final journey. These include celebrity Gail Porter and her six-year-old daughter, Honey.
The travellers, divided into categories such as hen party, family trip, single and couples, will visit one destination and, with a limited budget, track down the hidden wonders and attractions of each place, normally overlooked or undiscovered by typical travel guides.
Head of marketing at ebookers Claire Howard Jones said the adventurers are "loaded with questions and tasks to find those hidden secrets and we’re very excited to see what they discover along the way".
Between them, the adventurous group will travel a total of 11,000 miles to destinations which include Dubai, Miami and Dubrovnik.
Established in 1998, ebookers offers flights from 250 airlines and operates websites in 13 European countries.
