Intrepid gap year travellers heading to Nepal may like to take part in a daredevil activity that has been recommended by a website.
Suite101.com has described parahawking with rescued vultures in the region of Pokhara as an "adrenaline rush".
Participants can make their way up the 1450m high Sarangkot Mountain before paragliding off the side, armed with buffalo meat.
The point of the food is to entice the vultures to approach and grab the snack with their talons, allowing for a close-up view of the birds of prey.
Catharine Nicol, writing for the tourism portal, said: "Paragliding is a smooth, silent, stunning way to defy gravity, but it’s impossible not to feel envious of the bird’s flying prowess and freedom in the air."
Earlier in the month, Solange Hando, writing for the company, recommended trekking in Nepal for the adventurous gap year traveller – highlighting the walks of the Nepal Top Hiking Trail and the Annapurna Circuit.
