Posted 15 Mar 2010

Gap year travellers ''can get on their bike'' in New Zealand Gap year travellers planning to visit New Zealand while on their adventure may like to participate in a bike ride tour that has been recommended by a tourism company.

Eichardt’s Hotel and cycling organisation Off The Rails have combined to offer people a package that encourages individuals to "get out" and "get active" in Central Otago.

The deal is available to participants who stay in the main hotel building, which was originally constructed in 1872.

Victoria Shaw, general manager of the business, said: "Autumn and early winter is the perfect time of year to get on your bike, hit the trail and combine a healthy, outdoors and active holiday with a luxurious stay in the heart of Queenstown."

Earlier in the month, travel website Suite110.com reported that a cable car ride in Wellington – the country’s capital city – would be an enjoyable and worthwhile experience for anybody visiting the area.
