Jet-setters enjoying a gap year in China this summer could have fun at the 21st Qingdao International beer Festival, taking place between August 13th and 28th.

According to Tourism China, this event happens to be China's biggest festival, tempting over three million people every year with the promise of delicious ales from both the orient and the US and Europe as well.

As event guide What's on When observed, Tsing-Tao beer is well celebrated at this particular festival – so if those on a gap year have never tried it before, the Qingdao extravaganza could be the perfect opportunity to do so.

Travellers in the area may also want to check out a temporary display of works by artist Li Yanshan, held at the Hong Kong Museum of Art in honour of the 50th anniversary of the master's death.
