Costa Rica minibus service ''changing the face of travel in country'' A new minibus service that has been launched in Costa Rica means that getting around the popular gap year hotspot is becoming significantly easier, according to one Brit.

According to Will Pavia, writing for the Times, people largely relied upon standard, slow buses to get around Costa Rica, but the new minibus service "now shuttles travellers across this little big country in a matter of hours".

"It is cheaper by £800 for two on a ten-day trip" he adds. "You are picked up early and delivered to a new world […] with most of the day left to explore".

The new mode of transport offered the journalist a convenient way to see the country, he explained, including its cloud canopies, impressive rainforests, volcanoes and "bewildering" landscapes.

Another way to visit the magnificent country is to volunteer abroad in Costa Rica with an expert firm such as i-to-i. It recently introduced a brand new project combining caring for sea turtles and the fun of learning how to surf.
