Travelling responsibly while still having fun has been made easy with i-to-i’s latest volunteering abroad in Costa Rica project.
Adventurous travellers looking for an unforgettable trip can sign up and experience some of the best things Costa Rica has to offer – namely its beautiful sea turtles and surf-friendly waves.
Based in Nicoya Peninsula along the country’s Pacific coastline, the Surf and Save the Turtles project will see volunteers help to protect the turtles from poachers while brushing up on their surfing skills.
They will have one day off each week to spend time with an instructor who will teach volunteers of all abilities to take advantage of a good wave.
Travellers currently on holiday or taking a gap year in Costa Rica may like to catch the International Surfing Association’s World Surfing Games, which will be held in Playa Hermosa between July 31st and August 9th this year.
