Gap year travellers may wish to book trips to China after hearing how the country is now cheaper and more accessible than it has ever been.
Andrea Loddo, product and contracts manager at travel consultancy Hayes & Jarvis, said that the Asian country’s appeal lies in its heritage.
She explained that Britons are fascinated with China because its culture and customs are so different from their own.
“Beijing, Shanghai and Xian are the obvious must sees for visitors … The sheer diversity of the landscape also appeals,” Ms Loddo added.
“First timers want to see all the famous sights like the Great Wall and Imperial Beijing’s Forbidden City, the Terracotta Warriors in Xian and the Bund in Shanghai and they can easily do that on an escorted tour where the main highlights of ”http://www.I-to-I.com/china.html">China are packaged together.“
Earlier this week, the Post Office announced that it has teamed up with American Express to offer new travellers cheques in yuan – the currency of ”http://www.I-to-I.com/china.html">China.
The Post Office said that the new cheques will make it easier for Britons to buy travel money to use in the Asian destination.
