Prime minister Gordon Brown may have a lot on his shoulders at the moment but he still found time to enjoy himself while on a political trip to Brazil.
A keen football fan, Mr Brown paid a visit to the country’s National Football Museum at Sau Paulo’s Pacaembu Stadium, reports Reuters.
He also met Socrates – a former captain of the Brazilian national team – and reminisced about the World Cup finals in 1982.
"I recall first going to the World Cup in 1982 and seeing Scotland play Brazil and remember to this day how Scotland scored first but then Brazil scored once, twice and then a third and a fourth," commented Mr Brown.
The prime minister announced that the English and Brazilian Football Associations will increase cooperation, with England assisting in the creation of a national refereeing school in Brazil.
In his youth, Mr Brown sold match-day programmes at his local team Raith Rovers, in exchange for free entry to the games, the BBC reported.
