Prospective gap year students in Canada may want to take note of the new one-year working visas being promoted in Australia.
They allow a Canadian graduate to work and travel their way across the southern hemisphere country for up to 12 months, according to Global Visas.
Daryl Hudson, Tourism Australia‘s vice-president for the Americas, said that the current economic situation makes now the right time for people to pack their bags in search of new experiences.
He explained: "With such a tough job market at home
now is the time for Canadian graduates to seriously consider taking a trip to travel in Australia and pick up some work along the way."
An enhanced CV and broadened horizons will allow a traveller to return home with greater employment prospects, he added.
