Attractions of Western Australia revealed

Attractions of Western Australia revealed Gap year travellers may be among those inspired to visit Western Australia following a new promotion from its tourism authority.

Tourism Australia has joined forces with Imaginative Television to produce a show extolling the country's various attractions.

Being aired in New Zealand, it features a number of Kiwi celebrities who share their favourite Aussie getaway experiences.

The west of the country has been a focus, with one participant heading to Ningaloo Reef to swim with sharks and manta rays – something that could inspire those planning on a gap year in Australia to do the same.

And such travellers may also take inspiration from recommendations from Wanderlust earlier this year.

The travel magazine listed the Margaret River, the Pinnacles and Karijini National Park as among the region's top attractions.

"Each experience captures the essence of key Tourism Australia messages around nature, adventure, coastal journeys, food and wine," comments Andrew McEvoy, managing director of Tourism Australia.
