Africa’s economy ‘can be boosted by strategic aid’

Africa''s economy ''can be boosted by strategic aid'' One organisation has claimed that Africa's infrastructure can be boosted by giving strategic aid, which may intrigue those interested in volunteer travel.

According to ONE, a global advocacy and campaigning organisation that aims to tackle issues such as preventable disease, poverty and hunger, there are a number of steps that can be taken to help Africa's prospects.

A spokesperson for ONE states that strategic aid is "vital".

"Countries can only prosper if they have a healthy and educated workforce and for this they need schools and hospitals that are properly staffed and well-equipped," he states, adding that this will help to encourage foreign investment.

His comments could inspire students planning a gap year to embark on volunteer travel in the continent, which might help improve these key areas.

Recently, i-to-i revealed that this kind of trip can help the personal development of students, as well as aiding the communities they visit.
