A gap year in China ''enticing for travellers'' Taking a gap year in China may be easier than ever, as the country has made concerted efforts to welcome visitors in recent years.

This is according to the Guardian, which has named China as one of its destinations of the decade, highlighting that the Asian country has stepped up its efforts to make visitors more comfortable.

"China’s tourism industry is booming – rapid modernisation, improved infrastructure, better information links, new budget Asian airlines … all have helped to open this vast country up to the mass travel market," the newspaper stated.

It added that, following the smooth running of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China recently announced plans to build 97 new airports by the year 2020 – something that could make gap year travelling in the country even more convenient.

The nation celebrated 60 years of communist rule on October 1st this year, marking the event with parades and celebrations in Tiananmen Square. ADNFCR-1944-ID-19522994-ADNFCR
